It's generally not advisable to have more than 1 rooster in an area. They are territorial both over their space and hens, and will often battle to the death. We could have kept one of the younger ones since we were giving away Mista', but the barred rock roosters tend to be a little nasty. I was tired of having to walk into the chicken area carrying a broom as a weapon. Our hens' world is much more peaceful w/o a rooster.

Why did you get rid of the roosters?

Oh. Just like that woman who turned 106 and when asked what her secret to living such a long life was said "I stay away from men!"
LOL, exactly!
